The Cathair Dhubh Estate offers some of the best views in Assynt!

 

Our five warm and welcoming self-catering cottages are the perfect place to retreat from the stresses of modern life and experience the glories of the timeless Assynt landscape. The cottages look south over Achmelvich Bay and west over The Minch to Lewis and Harris. Sea views, the amazing mountains and glorious sunsets are yours to enjoy.

 

Cathair Dhubh is 80 acres of rugged and incredible coastline – and your cottage is within walking distance of breathtakingly beautiful beaches at

Allt na Bradhan (5 minutes) and Achmelvich (15 minutes). The staggering Assynt hills are nearby if you’re feeling adventurous, but should you want to stay indoors you’ll find the cottages are extremely well-equipped.

Heather cottage, our largest, sleeps up to six guests and is wonderful for larger groups and visitors with mobility difficulties.  It has three bedrooms, comprising of a ground floor double with en suite bathroom and two twin bedrooms, each with en suite shower room.  Fern, Orchid, Myrtle and Thistle Cottages are all two bedroom and ideal for couples or families.  Each of these cottages has one double and one twin bedroom.

All the cottages have an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with patio doors leading outside.  The kitchens are well equipped with an oven, hob and microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. They have satellite TV, DVD player and WiFi.  However, the Wifi is not that fast and can be intermittent. There's a different pace of life in the Highlands, we try to relax and go with the flow!

We’re a family run business. We’ve been coming to Assynt for holidays for decades and now we’re part of it all. We’ve had some of the best times of our lives here, and we want to help you enjoy it just as much.
